This accession consists of records documenting the research of Miles Roberts, a specialist in mammals and Deputy Head of the Department of Zoological Research. Animals documented in this research include kangaroo rats, raccoons, gibbons, langurs, sloth bears, spectacled bears, polar bears, red pandas, opossums, giant pandas, bandicoots, elephant shrews, and gliders. Materials include correspondence, reports, meeting materials, notes, data sheets, background materials, images, film, audio, video, and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format. Some materials were created by predecessor offices, including the Office of Animal Management (through 1979), the Office of Animal Programs (1979-1984), and the Department of Zoological Research and Education (1984-1985).
