This accession consists of three websites maintained by the Office of Protection Services (OPS) as they existed in June 2011. The main OPS website, crawled on June 20, 2011, includes security information and visitor policies. The Smithsonian Alerts website, crawled June 20, 2011, provides information about preparing for and responding to a wide variety of emergency situations; serves as a portal for information about federal or Smithsonian Institution closures and dismissals; and allows staff to register for messages about emergency situation to be sent to their mobile phone or personal email. The National Conference on Cultural Property Protection website, crawled on June 22, 2011, includes information about conference schedules and accommodations. This accession also includes the National Conference on Cultural Property Protection blog, crawled June 22, 2011, which allows conference participants to discuss relevant issues throughout the year and suggest conference topics and speakers.
