This accession consists of records documenting the activities and administration of the Smithsonian Institution Women's Council (SIWC). SIWC is an assembly of employees, whose purpose is to discover and convey to the administration the concerns and needs of employees, especially women, and to advise and assist the Smithsonian Institution in the implementation of its policy of providing equality of opportunity in all its official actions. Topics covered in this accession include executive committee meetings, membership, newsletters, the Women in Museums Network, and Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. Materials include meeting materials, correspondence, membership lists, announcements, images, and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.
