This accession consists of records that document the activities of the Office of the Treasurer during the tenures of Treasurers J. D. Howard, 1948-1954; T. F. Clark, 1955-1959; Edgar L. Roy, 1960-1964; Otis O. Martin, 1965; and Betty J. Morgan, Assistant Treasurer, 1966-1968. The Treasurer oversees the Smithsonian Institution's private endowment. Materials consist primarily of correspondence with the investment management firm Scudder, Stevens & Clark.
