French physicist Louis-Victor-Pierre Raymond de Broglie (1892-1987) was a specialist in x-ray diffraction and spectroscopy and, in 1929, was awarded the Nobel prize in physics; in 1960, he succeeded his brother Maurice [SIA Digital No. 2008-0936] as the seventh duc de Broglie.
