Danish biochemist Carl Peter Henrik Dam (1895-1976) was awarded 1943 Nobel prize in medicine jointly with Edward Doisy for work on Vitamin K; he was a professor at University of Copenhagen, 1928-1941 and 1946-1976, and spent the war years in the United States.
