Swedish-born botanist Bror Eric Dahlgren (1877-1961) conducted research in Brazil and Cuba, and lead the Captain Marshall Field Expedition to the Amazon; he headed development of the Field Museum's famous Coal Forest Diorama, which opened in 1931.
