Summary

Heber Doust Curtis (1872-1942) was Director of the Allegheny Observatory, University of Pittsburgh, 1920-1930, and then Professor of Astronomy and Director of the Astronomical Observatories at the University of Michigan, 1930-1942; John Anthony Miller (1859-1946) was professor of astronomy at Swarthmore College and director of Sproul Observatory, 1923-1938, where his research focused on solar eclipses and the solar corona. This photograph was taken in association with observation of January 24, 1925, eclipse.
