  • In a series of expeditions to the Arctic, Robert Abram Bartlett collected materials for various organizations. During the course of the expeditions, Waldo L. Schmitt, United States National Museum, assisted Bartlett by providing collecting equipment and analyzing the specimens collected. The Weather Bureau provided Bartlett with maps of the Arctic in exchange for current information regarding glacier movements, size and water temperature. In 1928 Bartlett traveled to Greenland.
