Summary

John Joseph Carty (1861-1932), an engineer at AT&T, was made a Brigadier General in the ROTC in 1921 in recognition for his service during World War I. Carty, in military uniform, is at right in a group of unidentified men, standing at a radio microphone; the area around him has been airbrushed, and only his face was used in an illustration for Science News Letter article in 1930.
