Summary

With F.R. Moulton, geologist Thomas Chrowder Chamberlin (1843-1928) had devised the "planetesimal" theory of the origin of the solar system; when photo was taken he was emeritus professor of geology, University of Chicago. He was the father of Rollin Thomas Chamberlin.
