Summary

Elmer Theodore Ceder (b. 1905) was an assistant surgeon at U.S. Public Health Service. The caption of this photograph, retouched for wire transmission, reads: "E.T. Ceder--26-year-old scientist from the U.S. Public Health Service--helped incriminate the flea as carrier of typhus fever--suffered an attack of the pestilence acquired in the course of his work."
