John Carroll Broderick is shown standing outside Scripps College, Claremont, California. An American architect, Broderick became involved in 1926 in helping to reproduce, by hand, the Book of Kells; in 1936 he was associated with Trinity College, Dublin, and on a lecture tour in U.S. about the Book of Kells.
