Summary

Agricultural economist Charles John Brand (1879-1949) worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture throughout most of his career. From 1925-1945, he was Executive Secretary and Treasurer of National Fertilizer Association; the photograph was sent to newspapers in conjunction with Second International Conference on Bituminous Coal, Carnegie Institute of Technology, November 1928.
