After serving in the Canadian and British forces during World War I, Canadian ornithologist T. Hume Bissonette (1885-1951) taught at Coe College (Iowa), Trinity College (Connecticut), and instructor at Woods Hole (1926-1941), where he taught invertebrate evolution; his research specialty was the sexual cycles of birds.
