Fred Corry Bishopp (1884-1970), an expert on the housefly, was head of the Division of Insects Affecting Man and Animals, Bureau of Entomology and Plant Quarantine, U.S. Department of Agriculture, 1904-1953, and assembled the Tick Collection in the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History.
