Summary:

This accession consists of records documenting the curatorial activities of Lydia Puccinelli, Curator of Collections, National Museum of African Art, 1979-1999. Between 1964-1979, Ms. Puccinelli served as a curator at the Museum of African Art, prior to its joining the Smithsonian Institution. A large portion of the correspondence is in response to public inquires regarding the identification and assessment of objects. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, notes, exhibition materials, photographs of objects, slides, floorplans, didactics, and label text.

Descriptive Entry

This accession consists of records that document the curatorial activities of Lydia Puccinelli, Curator of Collections, National Museum of African Art, 1979-1999. Between 1964-1979, Puccinelli served as a curator at the Museum of African Art, prior to its joining the Smithsonian.
