This accession consists of records documenting the projects and activities of the Product Design and Decorative Arts Department during the tenure of David Revere McFadden, Curator, 1978-1993; Deborah Shinn, Curator-in-Charge, 1995-1996, and Assistant Curator, 1997-2002; and Sarah Coffin, Curator, 2004- . Projects and activities include professional activities, publications, "America's Smithsonian" traveling exhibition, events, collections moves, grants, Parsons School of Design master's program, and the 2000 meeting of the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Decorative Arts and Design of the International Council of Museums. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, grant files, notes, object images, meeting materials, email, architectural drawings, clippings, and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.
