This accession consists of the records of James B. Gardner, Associate Director for Curatorial Affairs at the National Museum of American History (NMAH). Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes documenting exhibition planning, donor policy, collections, external relations, fund raising, and professional activities; meeting agendas and minutes; information about NMAH reorganization, staff appointments, and retreats; NMAH visitor comment forms; the correspondence and memoranda of Joyce Ramey, Special Assistant to the Associate Director of Curatorial Affairs; videotapes; and budget summaries. Also included is a significant amount of records pertaining to the Catherine B. Reynolds Foundation grant for the proposed NMAH exhibition, The Spirit of America.
