Consists of records which document the processes of product development and licensing, including product proposals, design concepts, contract negotiations, royalty payments, and marketing. Some records date from when Smithsonian Enterprises was known as Smithsonian Business Ventures (SBV), as well as date from before the creation of SBV when product development and licensing was managed by the Smithsonian's Office of Product Development and Licensing. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, notes, clippings, contracts, catalogs, photographs, color negatives, drawings, illustrations, page proofs, books, and product samples. Some materials are in electronic format.
