Summary:

This accession consists of film and video created during the production of "Big Cats and How They Came to Be." This 10-minute film, animated by Film Polski, tells the story of the evolution of the genus panthera. It was created for the National Zoological Park. The film won the 1976 CINE Golden Eagle and a diploma at the Sixth International Film Festival of India. Materials include narration, sound effects, music, and the original negative on 35 mm film; original narration on 1/4" audiotape; and prints on 16 mm film and 1/4" U-matic videotape.

Descriptive Entry
