Summary:

This accession consists of materials that document the permanent outdoor exhibition, "Voyage: A Journey Through Our Solar System," which opened on October 17, 2001. This exhibition was created by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in collaboration with the Challenger Center for Space Science Education and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Consisting of 13 8-foot tall stainless steel stations, the exhibition is a scale model of the solar system that spans more than 600 yards along Jefferson Drive from the National Air and Space Museum to the Smithsonian Institution Building. Materials include architectural drawings, construction specifications, design specifications, and design drawings.
