This accession consists of the papers of Smithsonian Press designer, Crimilda Pontes. Included are materials on "Rails of the World: A Monograph of the Family Rallidae," the Quad flyer, and other projects for which Pontes was the designer. The files consist of correspondence, some annotated by S. Dillon Ripley; some of Pontes' original drawings; photographs; reviews of, and color plates of "Rails of the World: A Monograph of the Family Rallidae;" as well as occasional notes by Pontes on her illness and her work.
