Summary

This accession includes VHS videotapes documenting the tele-conference "Museums as Partners in School Reform," which took place on September 28, 1996. Three thousand teachers, education policy leaders, and museums educators participated in the event which included remarks by I. Michael Heyman, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution; Diane Frankel, Director of the Institute of Museum Services; and Howard Gardner, noted author and learning psychologist. Representatives from four successful museum-school partnerships explained their approaches and answered questions from the national audience.
