This accession consists of the personal papers of historian Wilcomb E. Washburn, also director of the Office of American Studies at the Smithsonian Institution, and document his scholarly interests in American political and cultural history, as well as his professional activities over the years in furtherance of those interests. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, reports, images, drawings, posters, phonograph records, brochures and clippings.
