This accession consists of the correspondence and subject files of National Museum of American Art (NMAA) Director Elizabeth Broun, 1990-1993. Included are alphabetical correspondence for 1992-1993, internal memoranda issued by Broun, 1990-1993 (with indexes to each folder), and various subject files. Subject files include the Association of Art Museum Directors, a 1991 study of NMAA/National Portrait Gallery (NPG) entitled, "Museum Images: A Study of the National Museum of American Art and the National Portrait Gallery", and files regarding the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the National Gallery of Art, and the Smithsonian's Council of Bureau Directors.
