Robert Verne Peterson was born in 1928 and received his PhD in Entomology from the University of Utah in 1958. This accession consists of his correspondence while a member of the Systematic Entomology Laboratory of the United States Department of Agriculture which is at National Museum of Natural History. Correspondence concerns identification and loan of specimens and other entomological matters. Peterson focused on Diptera (flies and mosquitos). There is a floppy disk at the front of Box 1 which contains correspondence in WordPerfect 5.1 The file is about 70 pages long and contains numerous letters to various individuals dated 1994. It was printed onto acid-free paper without editing and is also at the front of the collection.
