Summary:

This accession consists of materials created by Jane R. Glaser during her tenure as Director for the Office of Museum Programs, 1976-1989, which was renamed the Center for Museum Studies in 1995. Materials include correspondence between Glaser and museum officers in overseas countries, mostly documenting seminars and workshops in museum education and management programs held at the Smithsonian Institution, museum audience surveys, and museum exhibitions. The correspondence also concerns museum training and internship programs at the Smithsonian Institution, and requests for Smithsonian staff participation in overseas seminars and workshops on various aspects of museum operations. In addition there are newspaper clippings, postcards, seminar and workshop funding proposals to the National Endowment for the Humanities, interoffice memoranda and notes, correspondence with the United States Information Agency and copies of research proposals.

Descriptive Entry
