This accession consists of the records of Steven D. Lubar, Curator, which document the following permanent, temporary, and traveling exhibitions at the National Museum of American History (NMAH): A Material World, The Price of Freedom, Fast Attacks and Boomers: Submarines in the Cold War (2000), The Family Car, Between a Rock and a Hard Place: A History of American Sweatshops, 1820-Present, World War II: Sharing Memories, The Smithsonian's America: An Exhibition of American History and Culture, and Who's in Charge: Workers and Managers in the United States. Also includes records pertaining to proposed exhibitions that were never created, as well as planning information for a new Hall of Armed Forces History at NMAH.
Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; exhibition proposals and planning information; scripts; budget summaries; agreements; meeting agendas and minutes; project reports; brochures; exhibition design and installation information; press releases, newspaper clippings, and articles; production timelines; floor plans; photographs and slides of exhibitions and objects; advisory committee, educational programs, and special events information; and research material.
