This accession consists of records that document the external administrative activities of Charles Robertson, Deputy Director. Records deal with Robertson's interaction with commissions, planning boards and other entities outside of the Smithsonian Institution such as the Cosmos Club, the American Association of Museums, and the National Capital Planning Commission. Topics of interest include the proposed renovation of the General Post Office Building; neighborhood concerns related to that project and general activity in the vicinity of the Museum; and commissions and committees on which Robertson served as a member. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, reports, working papers, notes, clippings, and related records.
