National Air and Space Museum. Department of Space History
Project Files, 1991-1997
This accession consists of records created and maintained by David H. DeVorkin, Curator in the Department of Space History, documenting a variety of projects and committees. The majority of the records concern the Dialogue Committee of which DeVorkin was Chairman. The Dialogue Committee organized conferences to discuss issues of institution-wide concern. The first conference - titled "What About Increase?" - occurred March 12-14, 1995 and focused on the different and similar perspectives of research scientists and research humanists. The second conference - titled "What About Diffusion?" - occurred March 16-18, 1997 and focused on bringing together members of the research and outreach communities to search for common ground. Other committees and projects documented in these records include the History Roundtable and the Research Policy Committee. Materials include correspondence, notes, programs, flyers, reports, agendas, participant lists, meeting minutes, and related materials.
