Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records which document the static web pages that constituted the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden's first web site from its launch in 1997 until its first major overhaul in 2002. The website was developed by a committee composed of representatives from the Hirshhorn Office of Public Affairs, the Department of Education, and Department of Exhibits and Design, with the Department of Education acting as the first chair. The website was created and updated by the Office of Public Affairs using Microsoft Frontpage software and maintained on a server located in the Arts and Industries Building by the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Materials include printouts of HTML coding for each page and electronic copies of web pages.
