This accession consists of records that document static web pages that constituted the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden's first web site from its launch in 1997 until its first major overhaul in 2002. The web site was developed by a committee composed of representatives from the Hirshhorn Office of Public Affairs, the Department of Education, and Department of Exhibits and Design, with Department of Education acting as the first chair. The web site was created and updated by the Office of Public Affairs using Microsoft Frontpage software and maintained on a server located in the Arts and Industries Building by the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Materials include printouts of HTML coding for each page and electronic copies of web pages.
