This accession consists of medical records for dead and shipped birds attended by National Zoological Park veterinary staff. Active and inactive medical files are controlled in an MS Access database. Inactive files will be sent to the Archives, and SIA accession numbers and box numbers will be entered into the database for easier retrieval. In the future, SIA may obtain a copy of the database and update it periodically.
