This accession consists of the records of Richard E. Ahlborn, Curator in the Division of Cultural History, with some earlier material dating back to when he served as Curator in the Division of Community Life. The records primarily consist of correspondence, memoranda, and notes documenting exhibition planning at the National Museum of American History, particularly for the exhibit American Encounters; projects and research pertaining to ethnicity and religion, with considerable focus on Hispanic culture; and divisional activities. Additional material includes photographs of Ahlborn; his lecture papers, scholarly articles, book reviews; and his research travel reports.
