Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of the records of Roger Pineau, who curated the 1968 exhibition, The Japan Expedition of Commodore Matthew Calbraith Perry, 1852-1855. These records were given to Harold D. Langley, Curator of Naval History at the National Museum of American History, in what was then known as the Division of Armed Forces History, for reference purposes during the 1980s. The files consist mostly of correspondence, lecture papers, photographs, newspaper clippings, films, and budgetary information relating to the exhibition. Some files date to when the museum was known as the Museum of History and Technology and National Museum of History and Technology respectively.
