Finding Aids to Official Records of the Smithsonian Institution Archives
Accession 96-021
National Museum of American History. Department of Exhibits
Exhibition Records, circa 1959-1993
Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of architectural blueprints of the National Museum of American History (NMAH), mostly of its interior, plus original exhibition floor plans of the Museum. Some of the floor plans date as early as 1959, when exhibition halls were being conceived for what was then called the Museum of History and Technology. The floor plans are to NMAH exhibitions such as Men and Women (1988), Changing American Farmland (1980), and After the Revolution: Everyday Life in America (1976). These files were maintained by Robert H. Norton, Chief of Exhibits Production, 1986-1994.
