Summary

These records include exhibition labels to two World War I French planes: the SPAD-13 ("Societe Pour L'Aviation et Ses Derives"), a tractor fighting biplane, and the SPAD-16, used for reconnaissance. Both planes were also flown by American pilots. The planes, which are still in the National Air and Space Museum collections, were acquired from the War Department either during the 1920s or early 1930s.
