The Society for Marine Mammalogy (SMM) was founded in 1981. It began publishing a quarterly journal, Marine Mammal Science (MMS), in 1984. This accession consists of various files maintained by SMM Editors Joseph R. Geraci and Douglas Wartzok, 1984-1995. Included are files pertaining to manuscripts submitted for publication in MMS; correspondence and financial records of the Editor's office; correspondence, drafts, proofs, and related materials concerning the SMM publication The Bowhead Whale; proofs of MMS volumes 7-11; and MMS datasheets.
Restrictions
Access RestrictionRecords pertaining to the evaluation of manuscripts submitted to the journal of the Society, "Marine Mammal Science," which are less than 30 years old shall be available only to the current Editor and past editors of the journal. The latter may have access only to records generated during their term of office. Otherwise, records will be made available only with the permission of the President.
