  • John F. Jameson, former Assistant Secretary for Administration, was appointed Special Assistant to the Secretary in 1990. He assisted the Secretary with the management of special projects, including the Folklife Festival. In 1994 he left this position to become Acting Director of the Smithsonian Institution Archives.
