Summary

These records were maintained by Jeffrey LaRiche, Deputy Assistant Secretary for External Affairs, 1988. The records pertain to the opening of the Quadrangle: Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, the National Museum of African Art, S. Dillon Ripley Center (International Gallery), and Enid A. Haupt Garden. Materials include memoranda; invitations; letters inviting guests to speak; notes/slides/cassette tapes from various lectures that were given; and memoranda discussing the SI Press Book about the Quadrangle (mostly in terms of its underground architecture). Records predating 1988 were maintained by LaRiche as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Public Service.
