  • The Office of Physical Plant was created in 1995 from three predecessors: Office of Design and Construction; Office of Architectural History and Historic Preservation; and Office of Plant Services. The Office of Physical Plant is responsible for providing detailed planning and building design work; resolving historic preservation issues; handling maintenance and repairs; and managing construction projects and plant operations. The Office of Physical Plant was merged into the Office of Facilities Engineering and Operations in December 2001.
  • Patrick Miller was Director of the Office, 1995-1996, followed by Michael J. Sofield, 1997-2001.
