  • The Office of the Chief Financial Officer was created by the Under Secretary in 1996 to replace the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Financial Services, recently abolished. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the work of the Office of the Comptroller, the Office of Contracting and Property Management, the Office of Risk and Asset Management, Office of the Treasurer, and the Office of Sponsored Projects. Rick R. Johnson was Chief Financial Officer, 1996-2000, and was succeeded by Alice C. Maroni, 2001-2010. In 2010, the Office of the Chief Financial Officer was abolished and its duties incoporated into the Office of the Under Secretary for Finance and Administration.
