Summary

Consists of records documenting the professional activities of Fenner Albert Chace, Zoologist Emeritus, Division of Crustacea, 1965-1998. Papers pertain mostly to his career prior to joining the Smithsonian, his research and field work, writings, and his affiliation with fellow scholars and professional organizations in the field of invertebrate zoology. Some of the material was generated during his tenure at the The Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, prior to his arrival at the Smithsonian in 1949. Major correspondents include: Horton Holcombe Hobbs, Mary Jane Rathbun, Waldo L. Schmitt, Alexander Wetmore. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, manuscripts, and photographs.
