- The Office of Academic Programs was established in 1987 to strengthen relations between the National Museum of American History and universities. Gary Kulik, Chairman of the Department of Social History, was its director as well. From 1991 to 1993 he was Assistant Director for Academic Programs, National Museum of American History. The office was closed in 1993.
