  • The Department of National History was created from its predecessor, the Department of National and Military History in 1978. It contained Divisions of Postal History, Numismatics, Naval History, Military History, and Political History. In 1980 the Department was merged into a new Department of Social and National History. Vladimir Clain-Stefanelli served as Chairman of the Department, 1978-1979.
