  • The Young Associates Program was begun in 1979 as a means of introducing children between the ages of four and thirteen to the Smithsonian's opportunities.
  • The first Program Manager was Christine Parker, 1979-1982, followed by Roslyn Beitler, 1983-1994. In 1997 the Program Manager was Adrienne Torrey; Tosha Grantham held the position, 2000- .
