Consists of records documenting the administrative activities associated with the Experimental Gallery, once located in the Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building. The Experimental Gallery was established in 1991 and became defunct in 1994. The records were created during the tenures of Kimberly Camp, Director, 1989-1994; and Freida D. Austin, Assistant Director, 1991-1994. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, logistical and budgetary papers; reports, funding and financial papers; contracts and personnel records; audio and videotapes; photographs, slides and transparencies; proposals; designs; scripts; floor plans and blueprints; evaluations; and concept drawings and sketches. A few early records from 1979 are intermingled.
