Summary

Consists of records documenting the activities of Gary Kulik, Assistant Director for Academic Programs, 1987-1994. Some records predate Kulik's tenure at the Smithsonian while others date back to when Kulik was Assistant Curator for the Division of Textiles, 1978-1982; Vice-Chairman of the Department of Social and Cultural History, 1980-1982, and Chairman, 1983-1986; and Editor of the "American Quarterly," circa 1988-1994. Materials include correspondence with professional organizations, universities, museums, private corporations, historical societies, federal agencies, and the general public; reports; meeting minutes; symposium records; research papers; administrative memoranda; fellowship records; program proposals; and exhibition records.
