Summary

Consists of records documenting the Smithsonian Institution's participation in the study of the status of metrication both within the Institution and nationally. John F. Jameson served as the Institutions representative in this effort. He worked in cooperation with the following committees: the Interagency Committee on Metric Policy; the United States Metric Board; and the Metrication Operating Committee. Materials include correspondence; memoranda; questionnaires; meeting minutes; metrication reports; summary reports; state and regional status reports; and studies.
