Summary

Consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence of division staff with pharmacists, doctors, pharmaceutical associations and manufacturers, medical associations, medical equipment manufacturers, historians, educational institutions, government agencies, and others chiefly concerning the division's exhibit program, its collections, publications, and public inquiries. The correspondence documents the tenures of Joseph Donner, Assistant Curator, 1917; Charles Whitebread, Assistant Curator and Associate Curator, 1918-1948; George S. Thomas, Associate Curator, 1948-1952; George B. Griffenhagen, Associate Curator, 1952-1956; John B. Blake, Associate Curator and Curator, 1957-1961; Sami Khalaf Hamarneh, Associate Curator, Curator, Historian, and Curator Emeritus, 1960-1985; and Audrey B. Davis, Assistant Curator, Associate Curator, and Curator, 1968-1994.
